ASSISTANT FINANCE MANAGER

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Finance Manager to join our team in Stulang, Johor Bahru. The role involves overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, taxation, treasury functions, audit coordination, and compliance matters while supporting the Finance Manager in managing daily finance activities.

What you will be doing

• Hands-on involvement in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, adjustments, and preparation of supporting schedules to meet strict reporting deadlines
• Timely preparation and analysis of monthly management reports
• Responsible for handling the full spectrum of accounting, cash flow, treasury, taxation and management reporting functions
• Responsible for e-invoicing compliance
• Review tax information packs prepared by the team and assist with the preparation of tax computation and submission of annual tax filings
• Review monthly SST and Withholding Tax (WHT) submissions and ensure timely payments in compliance with applicable regulations
• Support the preparation of audited financial statements. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring all required documentation and information are provided promptly
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and other statutory bodies/authorities to ensure compliance with audit, taxation and statutory requirements
• Assist the Finance Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounts department
• Monitor Accounts Journal /GL double entries and payment Vouchers
• Direct reporting to management on Monthly, Quarterly and yearly Financial figures (Management Accounts, Banking, Cash Flow)
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager as required

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or professional certificate in accounting.
• More than 7 years relevant experience preferred
• Experience in liaising with auditors, bankers, tax authorities and regulators
• High integrity, accountability and attention to details
• Ability to establish priorities, meet tight deadlines, and effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates with a Chartered Accountant qualification will have an added advantage
